Jodi is a talented and influential counselor, speaker, presenter, coach, consultant, mentor, trainer, and teacher. Originating from Pulaski, a small town in Southwest Virginia, Jodi is the second of three children born to Joseph M Slaughter and the late Joyce M Anderson-Slaughter.

She is the founder and CEO of Launch Out Coaching and Consulting and Pieces Put Back Together, a Women’s Ministry Without Walls. Jodi obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services Counseling with a minor in Psychology and Women’s Studies, from Old Dominion University. She worked in corporate America as upper management for 10 years before transitioning into the mental health field in 2003. In 2008, she obtained her Master of Arts degree in Counseling with a concentration in Community Counseling, School Counseling, and Marriage and Family Therapy from Regent University. While at Regent, Jodi served as the Student Circle Secretary for the Association of Black Psychologist as well as a Praise and Worship leader for the university’s Chapel services. Jodi’s “out of the box” teaching and training has allowed her gift to make room for her and now affords her the opportunity to teach and train utilizing platforms in the secular and Christian arenas.

Currently, Jodi is pursuing a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Old Dominion University. Jodi is an active member of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic & Professional Honor Society International, American Counseling Association, and other professional organizations where she continues to cultivate her professional identity and present at national conferences. Jodi believes that family is the foundation of society and works diligently to preserve the core family system. Jodi brings nearly 15 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families in crises. She has co-written curriculums for Character Growth Groups, Anger Management, and Trauma/Play Therapy Groups for elementary, middle, and high school students and has developed programs to enhance the relationships within the family system. Jodi also continues to address the stigma of mental illnesses within the African-American Community and conducts and facilitates workshops, retreats, and conferences that address the ongoing concerns for adolescents, teenagers, women, parents, and families.

Driven and determined to help change lives and businesses, she created Launch Out Coaching and Consulting to help individuals overcome life’s obstacles, to triumph over their deepest fears as they journey towards their dreams and goals, while gaining the clarity and motivation needed to unlock their full potential, walk in purpose, and become unstuck. Jodi currently assists with running Profit Partners, a Networking Group in Hampton Roads, Virginia, for entrepreneurs and small business owners. Jodi understands that while entrepreneurs and small business owners only make up 5% of the population, they currently contribute $8.5 trillion to the economy and are the cornerstone of the United States economy. Jodi also co-wrote a coaching curriculum that trains and certifies individuals as coaches.

As a non-traditional coach, teacher, and speaker, Jodi seeks to inspire, motivate, empower, and encourage others to become who they were created to be by teaching them how to change their thoughts, beliefs, and ultimately their actions by mastering their mind! She believes that everything an individual needs to succeed is already inside and considers it an honor to walk alongside each client as they take back control of their lives and businesses.
